Lauren Taylor Clifton, Esq. is a proud graduate of Hofstra University. While at Hofstra, Lauren played four years of division one tennis for the Hofstra Pride serving as the team’s Captain in both her Junior and Senior year of college. She currently holds the record for all-time leader in singles match victories at Hofstra. Lauren went on to graduate from the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in 2014 where she served as the President of the Nova Law School Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyer’s from 2013-2014. Soon after, she began her legal career advocating for the best interests of
children in dependency court as a Guardian Ad Litem Attorney in West Palm Beach.
After seven years as a GAL Attorney, Lauren joined several of her mentors at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County’s Juvenile Advocacy Project (“JAP”). As a JAP Attorney, Lauren served as an Attorney Ad Litem while protecting and advocating for the legal rights of children in court. Lauren currently serves as the Law Firm Liaison and Community Engagement Attorney with the Pro Bono Project at Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. There, she focuses on the recruitment and retention of volunteer attorneys who provide legal assistance to members of the community who otherwise would not have access to free legal assistance. By doing so, Lauren strives to ensure that members of our community who lack the financial resources to hire an attorney still have access to justice. Although Lauren no longer litigates court cases, she continues to be a fierce advocate for children experiencing foster care and for children who find themselves involved with the court system.
Lauren is an active member of the Palm Beach County Florida Association for Women Lawyers, where she serves as the Outreach Co-Director. Lauren is a member of the National Adoption Day Committee— which supports adoption from foster care each November at the Courthouse. In her free time, Lauren is an avid traveler, a permanently disappointed Atlanta sports fan, and loves spending time outdoors with her husband, her two kids, her parents, and her brother while enjoying everything that South Florida has to offer.
