My family started fostering when I was a senior in high school and, inevitably, it completely changed my life and continues to do so. It’s been an experience fraught with heartbreak and loss, but also beautiful, incredible people that I’ve been lucky enough to get to meet and know and love. The last four years, I’ve watched my parents, foster siblings, and various friends and social workers navigate the hurt of the very broken child welfare system. There is an abundance of need. And so, I’m grateful for this opportunity with the Hands and Feet and for their persistence in the hope to express Jesus further by meeting the needs of local children and families as best we can, like Jesus told us to.
